The Stations of the Cross

Dale Burton was commissioned by Concordia Lutheran Church in Duluth, Minnesota to depict 8 Stations of the Cross in sculpture to be installed in their sanctuary. These were completed and installed in time for the beginning of Lent in 2013.

Station 1 Christ before Pilate

Station 2 Christ takes up the cross

Station 3 Simon carries the cross following Christ

Station 4 Christ greets women of Jerusalem

Station 5 removing Christ's garment

Station 6 soldier nailing Christ to the cross

Station 7 beloved disciple with Mary at the foot of the cross

Station 8 laying Christ in the tomb
